Kaya to our parents and carers
You may be aware that a severe heatwave has been declared for the remainder of the week – Thursday 8 February and Friday 9 February 2024.
School remains open and we have adjusted our teaching and learning programs to protect students and staff from long periods of high temperatures.
To minimise the risks associated with extreme hot weather, we:
- have postponed all outdoor sporting activities.
- will have lunch and recess inside classrooms.
- have reminded staff to educate and encourage students (and each other) to stay hydrated.
- have educated staff on ways to reduce heat entering classrooms.
Our school has maintained power supplies and classrooms are airconditioned. If we experience power outages, I will let you know via Connect.
