Dear Parents and Carers,
The Year 6 students will be attending a free, R U Legal session at school on Monday 28th November during their lesson time. There will be a strong focus on Cyber Safety and Cyber Security, as well as other aspects of laws that affect young students.
R U Legal? is a program of free community legal education sessions and resources for young people between 10 and 18 years old. It has been developed by Legal Aid WA to provide young people with information about the criminal justice system and the laws that affect them. Sessions are presented from the perspective of criminal lawyers and use real-life examples to show legal consequences to young people.
We have the opportunity to host a parent information session (for parents of any year level). This is an opportunity for our community to access up to date information regarding online safety and what parents can do to support their child in an online environment.
Please complete the information on the attached Permission Slip if you would be interested in coming to the parent information session on Monday 28th November at 3.00pm – 4.00pm and return this to the school by Monday 7th November 2022. Parents may also choose to email [email protected] with the information from the Permission Slip to indicate their interest in the Parent Session if you prefer.
Please make alternative care arrangements for your children as the parent session is not suitable for children to attend and children cannot stay on school grounds unattended.
Regards,
Cam Benness
