School Report
Our school continues to build on our tradition of being a caring and dedicated learning community. Our student numbers continue to increase steadily, with notable growth in the junior years, as our community changes and Tuart Hill Primary School establishes itself as the first school of choice for local families.
The learning opportunities and experiences we offer our students are due to the dedication of the staff, families and the community of Tuart Hill Primary School who contribute with dedication and enthusiasm in so many ways. While our consistent focus is improving student learning now and for the future, we offer an array of opportunities that support and enhance many facets of school life.
Our partnership programs, including Occupational and Speech Therapy, Social Work and Psychology, continue to provide mutual benefit to all involved, with staff, students and parents responding positively to the extra support and services they are able to access. The 2017 Independent Public School review panel also noted the many positive ways that students are supported beyond the curriculum and the strong sense of community that is evident to the many people who engage with us throughout the year, including local and federal politicians, Department of Education consultants, professional learning providers, university supervisors, pre-service teachers, community leaders and others.
Our Board Chair, Jason Papps, has continued to lead our board with purpose and professionalism through strategic planning issues. The current Board is the largest one to date, with membership close to capacity, offering a diverse range of experience and knowledge that benefits our school. Our hardworking P & C members, capably led by Jodie Willis, have had a very successful year which has contributed strongly to many projects and initiatives that our students enjoy.
I acknowledge the hard working staff who daily make a difference to our students. Despite the myriad of tasks to which they attend our teachers actively engage with students, parents and each other to achieve the best outcomes for all concerned. We are privileged to have many outstanding staff who have been recognised and nominated for their commitment to the school values of excellence, care, equity and learning.
