Dear Parents and Carers,

The 2024 National Schools Opinion Survey for Tuart Hill Primary School revealed a range of insightful from the community.

Support for Children: Parents highlighted the positive relationships fostered by staff, noting the time teachers invest in meeting with both students and parents. The differentiation of the curriculum to cater to individual needs, alongside programs for Special Needs, TAP, EAL/D, and Gifted and Talented students, was appreciated.
Family Support: Families valued the welcoming and inclusive nature of the school community, the responsiveness of staff when approached, and the informative communication from the P&C.
Suggestions for Improvement: Common concerns included issues with parking and Kiss and Drive procedures, the challenges posed by the school’s rapid growth (such as overcrowding and the placement of Transportables), and the desire to reinstate school camps and extend playground access after school hours. Some parents also expressed the need for clearer and more consistent communication to better support event planning and lesson involvement.
Thank you to all the parents who took the time to provide valuable feedback through the 2024 National Schools Opinion Survey. We truly appreciate the thoughtfulness behind your comments, and we are pleased to know that many of you feel supported by our staff and the school community.

While we are encouraged by the responses, we acknowledge the importance of a strong response rate to ensure that the feedback reflects the views of our entire school community. Unfortunately, our 2024 response rate of 8.7% marks a decline from last year’s 12.6%. To address this, we are considering several strategies to increase participation in future surveys, including earlier outreach in Term 2 and using QR codes at school events to help parents easily access the survey.

The feedback we’ve received will be shared with our staff to ensure that we continue to build on the strengths that you’ve highlighted, including our commitment to strong communication and the supportive relationships between staff, students, and families. We also recognize the areas for improvement and will take action to address concerns such as parking, the impact of rapid school growth, and enhanced Leadership days for our year six cohort. Once these areas have been reviewed and decision made, we will continue to communicate these via our official channels to our community.

We look forward to working together with you to make Tuart Hill Primary School an even better place for our children and families, and we invite you to continue engaging with us to further enhance our school community.

Kind regards,

Beverly Innes, Principal, and Ashleigh Apps, 2025 School Board Chair
